We have been volunteering and supporting these guys for many years. We are proud of how they have grown and how successful their programs have been. GRID Alternatives' core program is the Solar Affordable Housing Program, where we train and lead community volunteers and job trainees from all walks of life to install solar electric systems with low-income homeowners.

Arriba Juntos is a non-profit employment and training organization that was founded in 1965 by Leandro Soto, Herman Gallegos and James McAllister with a strong commitment of equity and economic justice. Based in the Mission district, they are dedicated to promoting economic self-sufficiency for San Franciscans and their families through occupational training and employment opportunities. Every year they assist and support hundreds of families and individuals through our occupational trainings, employment and supportive services so they can better their educational and professional prospects. The assistance and support they receive help them move from a state of dependency into a high level of productivity.

Mural in the Mission

To commemorate our wedding and to give something back to the community, we'd like to work with Precita Eyes to commission a mural that celebrates the energy, diveristy, and culture of our neighborhood. As a community-based mural organization, Precita Eyes believes that it is their mission to not only enhance the urban environment, but also to reach out to educate the community at large. They seek to do this by bringing art into the everyday lives of neighborhoods and communities in a way which is meaningful to them.
