Excursions (Chichen-Itza)

Chichen-Itza, a World Heritage Site, was voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. It is one of the most visited archeological sites in Mexico. Among the cluster of monuments is the stepped pyramid of El Castillo, also known as the Temple of Kukulkan. If you’re lucky enough to be here during the spring or fall equinox, you’ll witness the appearance of a shadowy serpent descend the steps as the sun sets in late afternoon. The Chicken Itza complex also houses the Sacred Cenote, or sacred well.
